TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The cottage is only available for one or two adults, and is not suitable for children or pets. Only the people named when you made your booking may occupy the cottage, and the cottage may not be sub-let. The rent includes all electricity, heating, bed linen, towels (but please bring your own beach towels) and constant hot water, and there are no hidden extras. Cleaning and washing-up materials are provided.
Making and confirming your booking
Please contact us by email or phone to make your booking. Then please confirm the booking by sending me your full payment or deposit (see next paragraph), together with the full name, address, daytime and evening telephone numbers and email addresses of the people who will occupy the cottage. Bookings will be held for three working days (or longer for international bookings) to allow time for your payment to arrive. Our confirmation of your booking and receipt for your payment will be sent by email (or by post if you prefer).
The full payment is due immediately if the booking is made less than two months before the start of your holiday. A deposit of one-third of the rent is requested if the booking is made more than two months before the start of your holiday. We will acknowledge your deposit as soon as we receive it. The balance then becomes payable two months before the start of your holiday. Please don’t rely on us to send reminders – the date the balance is due will be on our booking confirmation. Non-payment by the due date will be treated as a cancellation (see below).
We also require a security deposit of £100, payable together with your final payment two months before the start of your holiday. This will be refunded in full within two weeks of the end of your holiday, and usually much sooner, less a deduction for any breakages or damage. Any deduction we make will be backed up with photographic evidence, where relevant, and based on actual costs.
How to pay
Our preferred way to receive payment is by electronic transfer direct from your bank account to mine – please ask me for details. We also accept cheques from a UK bank account, made payable to Fiona Anderson and sent to me at Lower Clunkamoor, Diptford, Totnes, Devon TQ9 7NL. International payments can also be made by electronic bank transfer or, if you have a Paypal account, by Paypal. For both methods please ask me for details. Any charges incurred for payments must be met by you.
We recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance in case you have to cancel your holiday. If you need to cancel, for any reason, we will do our best to re-let the cottage. If we are successful, we will refund all payments you have made, less an administration charge of £25. If we are not successful we will not be able to refund your payment.
Wi-Fi is available just outside the cottage, and usually just inside, but this is slow rural broadband and the availability of an internet connection cannot be guaranteed at any given time.
When we receive your payment in full we will acknowledge it and send you detailed directions about how to find the cottage. The cottage is available for occupation from 4pm on the first day of your holiday and we would be grateful if you could leave by 10am on your last day.
The cottage is thoroughly cleaned and all equipment checked between each tenancy to ensure you have everything you need, but please make sure the cottage is clean, tidy and in good order when you leave.
The owners or caretaker will be available throughout your holiday should you have any problems or need any help or information.
